i haven't made it over to the all the great galleries on geary street yet, but i like to check their websites sometimes for inspiration. i love these pieces by sarah bostwick at gregory lind gallery. i think they are all based on architectural elements around she observed around san francisco. they have a very quiet, simple beauty, and i love that they break the two dimensional aspect of a hanging canvas with wood or metal elements. but it's sort of tainted because they remind me of the ill-fated model making class i took in college...despite my love of miniatures, i was not very good at reproducing architecture in small scale and it ended poorly. oh well, moving on.
